Balance

Life is about balance. I choose to eat healthy and workout to help take care of my body. However, I also want to enjoy life and live it to the fullest. This requires balance. Brace yourself for something I am about to tell you…. I indulge on occasion. I know, you are shocked… right?! It is all about choice. I know I could probably weigh less or be much leaner if I was super strict on nutrition and exercise, but for me, it isn’t about that. I choose to eat things that are good for me and workout to be healthy. To feed my body what it needs to thrive and be strong. I workout to help reduce stress and to stay strong to avoid injury or having health problems later. I choose to indulge on occasion because it is part of living and enjoying life and I know if I allow myself treats here and there I am more likely to stay on track.

This weekend I was at a bachelorette party. During the day I ate great and worked out. For dinner I chose a healthier option knowing that I was going to choose to enjoy the evening with friends. I had pizza at 3:00a.m! The first time I have had pizza in quite some time. This doesn’t mean that I fell off the wagon or need to start over. It means that I made a choice and I have no regrets about making that choice. The night was amazing and a lot of fun with friends. I would not have done anything differently. Today, I am not starting over, but purely continuing the progress that I have made.

I have 2 more bachelorette parties coming up and am beyond excited to spend that time with friends. I know that between those events I am going to eat well 90% of the time, but I will be allowing myself that 10% to relax and celebrate with everyone. And that is ok. Life is all about balance.
